Elmhurst Car Dealership Plans Expansion

The business plans to increase two of its departments.

ELMHURST, IL – The Honda on Grand car dealership is asking for the city's permission to expand its service and parts departments.

The dealership at 300 W. Grand Ave. also wants to replace its facade with a new design and add an enclosed car delivery area.

The project would include limited site renovations and drainage improvements, according to the dealership's application to the city.

The work will have "positive visual and aesthetic impacts" on Grand Avenue, which is dominated by dealerships and similar uses, the application said.

Under the plan, the service area would increase by 4,400 square feet, the parts department by 1,200 square feet and the car delivery area by 700 square feet.

The City Council's Development, Planning and Zoning Committee plans to review the application at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall.
