Elmhurst Clerk Refuses Robbery Suspect's Demand: Cops
A man and a woman were accused of holding up a convenience store at gunpoint.
ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst convenience store clerk twice refused to give a suspect money during an armed robbery last week, authorities said.
Other than a beverage, the suspect left empty-handed, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.
Ditalion Barnett, 27, of Chicago, and Adyria Moore, 23, of Hillside, were arrested on charges of armed robbery with a firearm.

The armed robbery occurred about 8 p.m. Friday at 7-Eleven, 572 S. York St., police said.
According to the news release, a face mask-wearing Barnett selected a Snapple, approached the register and then displayed a handgun, telling the clerk to "give me everything."

When the clerk refused, Barnett said, "I'm going to shoot you," police said.
The clerk refused again. Barnett then left with the Snapple and got into a car driven by Moore, police said.
Detectives found Barnett and Moore had planned the robbery, with Moore supplying the store's address two days earlier, police said.
The two were arrested Saturday at a Bellwood gas station.
On Sunday, DuPage County Judge Anthony Coco granted prosecutors' request to keep the pair in jail until their trial.
"We are all thankful that the clerk, who was just trying to make an honest living, was not physically harmed," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
