Elmhurst College, American Legion Host Veterans Day Tribute

The tribute will be held at noon on Sunday, Nov. 11, in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel, 190 Prospect Ave.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst College Wind Ensemble and American Legion T.H.B. Post 187 will present a joint Veterans Day tribute concert on Sunday, Nov. 11. According to the college, the Wind Ensemble will play patriotic music throughout the program, joined by the American Legion Color Guard and the color guards and members of Elmhurst Boy Scout Troops 82 and 117.

Speakers at the event will include Elmhurst Mayor Steven Morley, Elmhurst College President Troy D. VanAken, members of the Elmhurst College Veterans Association and Cmdr. John Scudder from the Elmhurst American Legion.

President VanAken said in a release the Veterans Day Band tribute concert will be “a wonderful opportunity to enjoy inspirational, patriotic music and think about how this country’s veterans and active service members, throughout our history, have fought and died to keep us free.”
