Elmhurst Commission on Youth Sponsors Anti-Cannabis Documentary

Parents and students are encouraged to attend this educational documentary which spells out the dangers of marijuana use by young people.

The Elmhurst Commission On Youth is sponsoring a free* showing of the independent documentary, ”The Other Side of Cannabis: The NEGATIVE Effects of Marijuana on Our Youth” on Monday, November 9th at 7:00 pm at the Elmhurst Public Library. The film will be followed by a discussion with Linda Lewaniak, LCSW, CADC, Director of the Center for Addiction Medicine at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. Parents and middle- and high-school students are encouraged to attend, because the message that marijuana is safe, natural and harmless as a recreational substance must be weighed against the evidence of associated risks. We owe it to our children to educate ourselves about the true effects using marijuana could have on their bodies, minds and lives.

It’s not ”just” pot.

*While attendance is free, seating is limited so reservations are highly recommended by emailing ECYfilmseries@gmail.com.
