Elmhurst Coronavirus: Littered Gloves and Restricted Entry
Gloves are found on grocery store parking lots, and Walmart is regulating how many customers go inside store.
ELMHURST, IL — Here's a byproduct you may not have expected when the coronavirus crisis began — littered gloves. On Tuesday, Elmhurst Patch visited the Walmart in Villa Park, just across the street from Elmhurst city limits.
At least a dozen gloves were found in the parking lot. Many of them were at the edge of parking spaces, presumably from customers disposing of them just as they were getting in to their cars. This is happening at Walmart and other stores.

An employee was sweeping up litter in the parking lot early Tuesday afternoon. Asked if he had seen a lot of disposed gloves, he confirmed he had. More and more shoppers are wearing face masks and disposable gloves as a way of warding off the coronavirus.
Earlier this week, Walmart instituted a new policy allowing no more than 5 customers for every 1,000 square feet. At the Walmart in Villa Park, customers were routed through barriers going into the store. An employee was outside regulating the number of customers allowed inside.
