Elmhurst D-205 Official Leaving Job
The official called her job with the district an "excellent opportunity."
ELMHURST, IL — A top official in Elmhurst School District 205 is leaving the district.
Beverly Redmond, the district's executive director of communications, plans to resign in early September. She has worked for the district for more than three years.
At Tuesday's school board meeting, board President Kara Caforio noted it was Redmond's last time presenting to members.

"We wish you the best in your next endeavor," Caforio said.
Redmond responded that it's been an "excellent opportunity" for her and that she expected the district to continue doing well.

After the meeting, Redmond declined to say where she was headed next in her career, saying she planned to release that information later.
Before she joined District 205, Redmond was the director of school and community relations for Hamilton Southeastern Schools, which is in suburban Indianapolis, according to her LinkedIn page. She is also a public relations consultant.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication and media studies from Purdue University in Indiana.
