Elmhurst D205 Gets New Assistant Superintendent
He has experience as an administrator in another suburban school district.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board on Thursday named a new assistant superintendent of human resources.
The salary for Joseph Schumacher, who starts next month, is set at $175,500. He is replacing Luke Pavone, who received about the same amount.
For the last seven years, Schumacher has been the assistant superintendent of middle and high schools for Algonquin-based Community School District 300.

Before that, he was the executive director of curriculum and assessment in District 300. He spent eight years in District 300 as assistant principal and then principal of Dundee Middle School.
He has taught English in both middle and high school and served as a varsity cross-country coach.

District 205 received 47 applications for the assistant superintendent's position, according to a news release.
Schumacher has a bachelor's degree in English education from Illinois State University and a master's degree in educational administration from Northern Illinois University. He has a doctorate in administration and supervision from Loyola University.
The board unanimously voted for Schumacher. Member Jim Collins was absent.
