ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board is poised to publicly reprimand a tenured teacher.

The issue is among the items on the board's agenda for Tuesday's regular meeting.

The reprimand is known as a "notice to remedy" in school board jargon.

The board has yet to identify the teacher or reveal the facts of the situation. Patch has filed a public records request.

Such reprimands are rare. The last one was issued in August 2023 against Kelly DeLoriea, an English teacher at York High School. The board said she shared personally identifying information about a student on social media.

In response, the teachers union filed a complaint with the state's educational labor board, alleging the school administration retaliated against DeLoriea.

As of the last check, the labor board has not ruled in the matter.
