Elmhurst D205 Projects On Schedule: Official
It's "surreal" that the district is finishing the last of its referendum projects, a board member said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst School District 205's building projects paid for by voter-approved debt are on schedule this summer, an official said.
At Churchville Middle School, a project includes an auditorium addition and interior renovations. Meanwhile, Hawthorne Elementary is seeing upgrades to its interior.
Madison Early Childhood Center is also undergoing an overhaul, a project that is expected to last until next summer.

"This project is also progressing right on schedule," Chris Whelton, assistant superintendent of finance, told the school board this week.
The work is being paid for by $168.5 million in debt that voters approved in a 2018 referendum.

The money has paid for projects across the district. The two biggest were the replacement of Lincoln and Field elementary schools.
Board member Beth Hosler marveled at how much has been done over the last few years.
"It seems like yesterday that the referendum was approved," she said. "So the fact that we're nearing the end and wrapping up the final projects, it's surreal to me. Our facilities have never looked and operated better. It's just great news."
