Elmhurst Dog Park Expected To Open This Year: District

The park is set to include a splash pad, an agility course and a tunnel, among other features.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst Park District says it aims to complete the construction of a dog park by year's end.

The dog park is planned for 0S761 Old York Road. It is in an unincorporated neighborhood southeast of town.

In 2017, the district purchased the 3.4 acres for the dog park. The project budget is $2.2 million, according to the district's website. An estimate from years ago was $1.7 million.

"Opening the District’s first dog park is a high priority in the Vision 2020 Plan based on community feedback and the park amenity level of service analysis," the district said.
