Elmhurst DUI Suspect's Tires All Flat: Police

She was also accused of endangering the health of a child, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL—In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a DUI suspect with all flat tires, a man who hit a tree and a utility pole, threatening statements, drugs, theft and fraud. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

All four tires flat

  • A 24-year-old Addison woman was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Monday at Lake Street and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, endangering the health of a child, violating the child restraint law, illegal stopping and driving an uninsured car. Police said her car was found stopped at Lake Street and Interstate 290, with all four tires flat. She was taken to the police station and then released.

  • A 45-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of North Hampshire Avenue was cited about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schiller and Clinton streets on charges of property damage, driving while using a phone and failing to report an accident to police. Police said the man struck a tree and a utility pole. He was released.

Threatening statements

  • A suspect made threatening statements over the phone last week to a person at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 W. Arthur St. The suspect was mailed a no-trespass notice.

Drugs

  • About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 51-year-old Maywood man who refused to leave Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive, was discovered to have had a Cook County warrant. Police said they also found him with illegal drugs. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Theft

  • A woman told police that money was missing from her wallet about 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., after she left the wallet behind in a shopping cart. An investigation is pending.

Fraud

  • Two men made purchases using forged credit cards about 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at Giorgi's Game Spot, 350 N. York St. The crime was reported Wednesday. An investigation is pending.
