This Elmhurst Elementary Principal Leaving
The school board approved her resignation, which is set for June 30.
ELMHURST, IL – The principal of Jefferson Elementary School is leaving her job as of June 30
At its meeting Monday, the school board approved Principal Christina Podraza's resignation as part of a package of personnel actions.
Kara Caforio, president of the Elmhurst School District 205 board, wished Podraza well in her next chapter.

"I just wanted, on behalf of the board, to thank her for her service to District 205," Caforio said. "I think, particularly if you have been a leader through COVID, it's been a challenging couple of years. She has given a lot to our students and our Jefferson community."
According to Podraza's LinkedIn page, she started as Jefferson's principal in 2019. Before that, she was the interim principal at Elmhurst's Emerson Elementary for a few months.

She was an assistant principal in the district from 2017 to 2019, according to her LinkedIn page.
District spokeswoman Tonya Daniels said Podraza made the career decision because she is prioritizing her family.
