Elmhurst EMS Firm Gives To Mazzochi
The company has provided ambulance services in Elmhurst for decades.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst-based Superior Ambulance last week gave to the campaign of a local Republican state lawmaker.
For decades, the city government has paid Superior Ambulance to provide emergency medical services.
On Wednesday, Superior was reported as donating $1,091 to the campaign of state Rep. Deanne Mazzochi of Elmhurst. The money was listed as for concert tickets, food and beverages at United Center in Chicago.

According to state Board of Elections records, Superior and its affiliated Metro Paramedic Services have given nearly $150,000 to politicians over the last quarter century.
In next Tuesday's election, Mazzochi is facing Elmhurst Democrat Jenn Ladisch Douglass.

In recent months, Mazzochi has attracted attention for her criticism of Elmhurst School District 205's curriculum. She has called for the superintendent to "clean house."
Mazzochi did not take part in a candidates' forum in September with Douglass.
In July, she explained her Facebook posts about race as "ancient" and "clearly sarcastic." In one, she said Barack Obama wanted revenge against "colonialist white men."
Her posts were in 2016, when she was president of the College of DuPage board.
