Elmhurst Fire Department Accepting Firefighter Applications

The Elmhurst Fire Department is accepting applications for a firefighter position, according to the city.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• $35 non-refundable application fee;
• United States citizen;
• Must be 21 years of age, and under 35 years of age at time of application, or as otherwise exempt by statute;
• High school diploma (or its equivalent);
• Valid driver’s license;
• Illinois Department of Public Health EMT-Basic (EMT-B) license at the time of application. EMT-B must also be current at time of appointment;
• Submit proof of a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and Approved Ladder Climb card from a licensed agency. Card must be issued no more than 365 days prior to the date of written exam (Valid if dated: 7/11/2014 – 7/11/2015).

Applications must be hand delivered or mailed to IOS Recruitment, according to the job listing. Applications will not be accepted by email. All applications and required documents must be submitted to IOS Recruitment by 2 p.m. June 19.
