Elmhurst Gas Station Sells $1 Million Illinois Lottery Prize

A group of 42 ComEd co-workers in Oak Brook won the prize.

Update Nov. 19, 6 p.m.

The 42 lottery winners are ComEd employees, according to a news release. Each group member’s share of the $1 million prize is $23,809.52, before taxes.

Elmhurst resident Patty Jordan and Franklin Park resident Tina Regalado are the group administrators.

“Over the years some members have dropped out and new ones have joined,” Jordan said. “We’ve always each put $2 per week into our lottery pool. I don’t think any of us really expected we would win a prize like this.”

Overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 14.7.

The Elmhurst Minuteman Shell on East Butterfield Road sold a $1 million Mega Millions prize.

A group of 42 co-workers in Oak Brook won the prize from the Elmhurst gas station, according to an Illinois Lottery news release.

The co-workers had been playing Mega Millions for more than six years, and their winning Quick Pick ticket had the first five numbers match in the Oct. 21 drawing.

The winning numbers were 05 - 35 - 37 – 41 - 66 - (11), according to the news release.
