Elmhurst Holds 23rd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
The St. Patrick's Day celebration in Elmhurst is Saturday, March 9.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst will hold the 23rd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 9, starting at 12 p.m. According to the event website, the parade will kick off at the intersection of Wilson Street and Spring Road, and will continue north on Spring Road.
The parade features floats, marching units, and different characters, as well as local organizations, businesses and clubs. Chicago sports mascots Benny the Bull, Southpaw and Tommy Hawk are expected to be there.
"We're expecting to see droves of people," said Jim O'Connor, chair of the Elmhurst St. Patrick's Day Parade committee.

"We're supposed to see 45-degree weather, and wouldn't that be nice after the last six weeks of winter we've had."

O'Connor said the yearly parade is often seen as the official end of winter.
"Not the groundhog," he said.
The 2019 Grand Marshal for the parade is IC Catholic Prep.
