Elmhurst Hospital COVID Caseload Down Again

ELMHURST, IL – The number of coronavirus cases at Elmhurst Hospital has dropped again, according to its latest report.

As of Tuesday, the hospital said it was treating 11 patients with confirmed coronavirus cases, down from 23 a week ago.

The latest number compares to 48 cases at this time in January 2021 and 84 in January 2022.

In the last week, one person with the coronavirus died at the hospital. That's down from the previous week, when seven people with the virus died, according to the hospital.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the hospital has reported 338 deaths of people with confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Overall, the monthly average of coronavirus deaths at the hospital since March 2020 stands at 10. That number slowly dropped in 2022. In August, it was 10.7.
