Elmhurst Hospital Virus Caseload Falling
The surge in coronavirus patients at the hospital began in early August.

ELMHURST, IL — The number of coronavirus patients at Elmhurst Hospital has been falling over the last week, according to its statistics.
On Wednesday, the hospital reported that it had 15 patients with the coronavirus — 10 who are unvaccinated and five who are vaccinated.
On June 23, the hospital's coronavirus caseload dropped to zero. It had a handful of cases through July. In August, the number started to rise, reaching 29 on Sept. 2. Since then, the number has been dropping.

A month ago, the hospital had seen 190 deaths from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. That number has since risen to 196.
