Elmhurst Liquor Theft Suspects Arrested: Cops

They stole more than $1,000 worth of liquor each time they hit a local store, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Three men were arrested last week in connection with liquor thefts in Elmhurst and other suburbs, police said.

The men were identified as Andrew Densmore, 21; Jylein Densmore, 20; and Chrishon Greenwood, 25, all of Chicago.

The Elmhurst thefts were Sept. 26, Dec. 4 and Dec. 27 in the 900 block of South York Street, authorities said. Police did not identify the business, but a Jewel grocery store is in the 900 block.

In each incident, the suspects stole more than $1,000 worth of liquor and drove away in Kia or Hyundai vehicles, police said.

In the last incident, the suspects abandoned a vehicle in the store's parking lot. Just before the theft, they stole a Hyundai parked in a nearby lot, police said. The Hyundai was recovered the next day in Chicago.

The suspects were linked to at least eight other retail thefts reported in Carol Stream, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Naperville, Westmont, Wheaton and Woodridge, police said.

Elmhurst police obtained warrants for the men. Their bonds were set at $50,000, with the requirement they pay 10 percent to be released, police said.

Andrew Densmore was charged with 10 counts of retail theft, 12 counts of burglary and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle.

Jylein Densmore faces nine counts of retail theft and 10 counts of burglary.

Greenwood was charged with 11 counts of retail theft, 13 counts of burglary and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle.

All the charges were felonies.

Elmhurst police noted that Carol Stream and Chicago police, among other agencies, helped with their investigation.
