Grooming Suspect Worked For Elmhurst D205: Cops
He was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he remains four days later, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man who retired from Elmhurst School District 205 was arrested Monday on charges of indecent solicitation of a child and grooming, police said.
Andrew P. Barrett, 58, who lives in an apartment complex in the 900 block of South Euclid Avenue, was taken to the DuPage County Jail, police said. He remained there as of Friday morning, according to jail records.
In an email to Patch on Friday afternoon, Police Chief Michael McLean confirmed Barrett retired as a custodian from District 205 in 2021. (Ten days after Patch issued a public records request, the district confirmed Barrett last worked at Bryan Middle School.) According to Barrett's LinkedIn page, he was a utility custodian who started with the district in 1986.

Police said they investigated an electronic communication between Barrett and a person who posed as a 12-year-old child online. Barrett was arrested at his home about 10 p.m. Monday, police said.
