Elmhurst Man Enters Wrong House, Confronted By Woman: Police

In another case, an officer spots an unconscious person at a local bar, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a man going into the wrong house, an unconscious person at a bar, a fugitive driver, theft, damage and a dog bite. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Wrong house

  • A 22-year-old man who lives in the 600 block of Hawthorne Avenue was cited about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the drunk man entered the wrong house in the 600 block of South Fairfield Avenue, which was a block away from his own. When a woman in the house confronted him, he apologized and ran away, police said. He was released.

Unconscious at bar

  • An officer conducting a bar check found an unconscious person at a table about 8 p.m. Saturday at Doc's Victory Pub, 490 S. Spring Road. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Scam

  • A resident in the 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue was the victim of a scam from Feb. 3 to March 7. Suspects called the victim and told her that her personal information had been compromised. She was persuaded to withdraw money from her bank account, buy eight gold bars and deliver them to a stranger. An investigation is pending.

Gun turned in

  • A resident in the 300 block of East Huntington Lane turned in a revolver for destruction on Thursday at the police station.

Fugitive driver

  • An officer tried to stop the driver of a black BMW about 9 p.m. Thursday at North and Melrose avenues. The driver did not stop and was last seen turning onto northbound Interstate 294 from North Avenue.

Theft

  • Two catalytic converters were stolen from two cars about 3:30 a.m. Friday at Lake Street Auto Repairs, 612 W. Lake St. The cars were there to be serviced.

Unconscious, not breathing

  • Elmhurst officers and medics were called about 9:30 a.m. Friday to the 200 block of East Lake Street for a person who was unconscious and not breathing. Medics performed life-saving measures. The victim regained consciousness and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

Damage

  • Rocks were thrown at a living room window about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of East Butterfield Road, causing windows to shatter. An investigation is pending.

Dog bite

  • A white and black dog bit a person in the right leg about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South Parkside Avenue. The bite was reported to DuPage County Animal Services.
