Elmhurst Man Arrested Twice On Same Day: Cops
The resident fought officers at the police station, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst man was first arrested on New Year's Day after he pulled out a box cutter and extended the blade at a person in his neighborhood, police said.
Shortly after noon that day, police charged Lukas Kalman, 31, with assault. They released him on bond.
Five hours later, officers responded to a domestic disturbance at Kalman's house in the 700 block of North Emroy Avenue, police said.

Kalman was accused of setting fire inside the house before leaving. Officers found Kalman and took him to the police station, where he fought with them, police said.
He was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, attempted aggravated arson and attempted aggravated residential arson.

Three days later, Kalman was taken to the DuPage County Jail, where he remained Monday afternoon. His bond was set at $20,000.
In the earlier incident, Kalman pulled out the box cutter when a person confronted him while he was opening mailboxes in the 200 block of East Belden Avenue, police said. It happened about three blocks from Kalman's house.
