Elmhurst Man Knocks Down Jewelry Cabinet, Hits Person: Police
In another case, a woman flees from officers and speeds through a construction zone, authorities said. She was charged.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, aggravated fleeing, littering while drinking, industrial park thefts and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Domestic battery
- A 39-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Clinton Avenue was arrested about 4 a.m. Wednesday at his house on a domestic battery charge. Police said the man knocked down a jewelry cabinet and struck another person. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Aggravated fleeing

- Angelina S. Pace, 23, of Harvey, was arrested about 4 a.m. Wednesday on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, obstructing a police officer, speeding in a construction zone and passing a vehicle on the shoulder. Elmhurst officers helped Villa Park police with suspects who fled from a catalytic converter theft and ran from their car in Elmhurst. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Littering while drinking
- A 33-year-old Evergreen Park man drank beer and threw the empty can about 2 p.m. Wednesday in a yard near Hale Street and Kirk Avenue. The man was cited on a charge of possession of open alcohol in public.

- Chicago Fire and Water Restoration, 720 N. Larch Ave., reported five catalytic converters stolen from box trucks about 4 a.m. Tuesday. Another business, Christopher Glass & Aluminum, 832 N. Industrial Drive, reported converters taken from work trucks at some point last weekend. Investigations are pending.
- Someone shattered a window of a truck and rummaged through the vehicle's interior overnight Tuesday at Affordable Tuckpointing Pros, 513 W. Wrightwood Ave. It is unknown if any items were missing. A second vehicle's catalytic converter was removed. An investigation is pending.
Abandoned bike
- A resident in the 100 block of East Columbia Avenue told police about 8 p.m. Wednesday that a spray-painted, black mountain bicycle was leaning on his fence. The bike was heavily damaged and unridable. It was put into evidence for safekeeping.
DUI
- A 32-year-old Lansing man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at Butterfield Road and Cadwell Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
