Elmhurst Man Lashes Out At His Apartment Complex: Cops

In another case, an Elmhurst man got in trouble after supposedly working on a Halloween decoration, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of burglary, retail theft, disorderly conduct, vandalism, theft of service and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst reports:

Tampering with safety equipment

  • Michael J. Cross, 32, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of burglary, tampering with safety equipment, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. Cross damaged fire extinguishers, light fixtures and other items at the Elmhurst 255 apartment complex, 255 N. Addison Ave., where he lives, police said. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • An 18-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of South Spring Road was cited about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on a vandalism charge. Police said he threw paint on a car at Lincoln Elementary School, 565 S. Fairfield Ave. The man said he was doing this as a Halloween decoration. A lot of paint marked the parking lot pavement. He was released.

Theft of service

  • A 29-year-old Bensenville woman was arrested about 1 p.m. Saturday on a charge of theft of service. Police said the woman walked out on a root canal without paying at Cameo Dental Specialists, 148 N. Addison Ave. Police found her at her home. She was released.

  • Gregory Johnson Jr., 45, of Roselle, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on charges of burglary, retail theft and resisting a police officer. The incident occurred at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. Johnson, who was also wanted on a warrant, was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 36-year-old Carol Stream man was arrested about 3 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Road and West Avenue on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, driving an uninsured car, illegal stopping where prohibited and wearing no seatbelt. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 56-year-old Villa Park man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and possession of open alcohol. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 25-year-old Medinah woman was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lighting and driving an uninsured car. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 39-year-old Streamwood man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at York Street and Roosevelt Road on charges of DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was taken to the police station and then released.
