Elmhurst Mayor's Choice For Alderman Revealed
Northwest Elmhurst seat was left vacant by longtime alderman.
ELMHURST, IL — An Elmhurst University professor has been nominated to fill a vacancy on the Elmhurst City Council.
Mayor Steve Morley on Thursday recommended the appointment of Jacob Hill, a 17-year resident of Elmhurst. Hill would fill the seat left vacant in September by the resignation of longtime Alderman Norman Leader.
The council is set to vote on Hill's appointment at its meeting Monday.

He received a master's degree of library and information science from Dominican University and a master's degree of business administration from Elmhurst University.
Hill has been a member of the York Community Advisory Committee. In his application, he said he has a history of community involvement in Elmhurst's second and fifth wards.
In late October, Patch posted a story about the nine candidates and linked to their applications and cover letters.
The other Ward 2 alderman is Bob Dunn. The ward includes Berens Park and Emerson School.
Earlier this year, aldermen Mark Sabatino of Ward 1 and Kevin York of Ward 4 resigned, replaced by Jennifer Veremis and Brian Cahill, respectively.
Sabatino announced he was planning to move out of town, while York left because of a "personal situation."
