Elmhurst Mom's Credit Card Used in Ticket-Buying Scam

A woman told police that she let her son use her credit card, but she noticed the charges were growing to total more than $70,000.

She said her son’s friend was using him to buy sporting event tickets, according to Elmhurst police.

The son’s friend would give him checks to pay the credit card bill, but the checks would bounce. The scam took place between Sept. 1, 2014 and Dec. 1, 2014.

Police say there is a similar investigation being handled with this offender by the Berwyn Police Department and the FBI. This investigation will continue.
