This Elmhurst Neighborhood's Traffic To Be Studied

The city wants to identify deficiencies and make recommendations.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst decided this week to investigate the traffic situation in a neighborhood southwest of downtown.

The neighborhood is bordered by Park Avenue to the north, York Street to the east and St. Charles Avenue to the south and West Avenue to the west.

The area includes York High School, Wilder Park, Elmhurst University and Elmhurst Public Library.

On Monday, the City Council voted to pay Rosemont-based KLOA Inc. $32,500 to perform the study.

The firm was hired to evaluate the performance of the neighborhood's transportation system, identify deficiencies, analyze potential alternatives and make recommendations.
