Elmhurst Poised To Buy House Near City Department
The property is near public works, which is looking to expand, the mayor said.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst City Council on Tuesday plans to vote on buying a house near the city's public works department, which is at 985 S. Riverside Drive.
"It's a property that we're acquiring to expand our public works campus," Mayor Scott Levin said in an interview Friday.
According to city documents, the house is at 1009 S. Riverside Drive.

The council can discuss the purchase behind closed doors under the real estate exception to the state's open meetings law. A closed session is not listed on the council's meeting agenda.
City documents don't include a purchase price.

The house at 1005 S. Riverside Drive is adjacent to the property in question and is next to the city land. It is unclear whether the city plans to buy this house as well.
