Elmhurst Police Release Composite Sketch, More Descriptions of Home Invader

The intruder told the homeowner he thought he was inside a friend's house, police say.

Elmhurst police have released a composite sketch of the man found Monday inside the master bedroom of a home in the 200 block of North Indiana Street.

Police say the home invader is a white man, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 160 pounds. He had dark, short hair with a short, thin tail in the back, the homeowner told police.

He had a tattoo on the right side of his neck, just under his ear, that looked like a green backward “S,” and he had tattoos on both arms.

The man was wearing a wrinkled, black cotton vest over a gray T-shirt that had an insignia on the front, and black pants.

Elmhurst residents are asked to report suspicious activity, people or cars by calling 911.

Published Aug. 31, 2015. Elmhurst Police Search for Home Intruder

Elmhurst police searched the area around the 200 block of North Indiana Street on Monday morning after a homeowner reported an intruder in her house.

Police have not yet found the intruder, who is described as a white man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, thin build, hair in a ponytail and tattoos on his arms and neck, wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants, according to Elmhurst police.

The homeowner told police she found the man in her house at 10:45 a.m. Monday, and he seemed calm but sweaty. The man told her he thought he was at a friend’s house, and she escorted him out and called police. He left on foot.

Elmhurst police remind community members to immediately report suspicious activity, people or cars by calling 911.
