Elmhurst Prepares for Possible Severe Weather
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a flash flood watch for DuPage County through Friday morning.

The City of Elmhurst’s Streets Division is preparing pallets of sandbags for residents to pick up and use.
There are also sandbags, shovels and a pile of sand available for residents to fill additional bags after hours, according to the city.
Materials are available in the parking lot of the Public Works Garage.

Low-lying areas and inlets have been checked, and the first cycle of city street sweeping has been completed, the city reported. Residents can help by keeping inlets clear of debris.
