Elmhurst Public Library and Model Railroad Club Partner to Raffle Train Display
The public is invited to the club's weekly open houses to learn more.

Elmhurst children can enter to win a custom-built model train display through a raffle hosted by the Elmhurst Public Library and the Elmhurst Model Railroad Club.
Entry for the raffle of a 3.5-by-6-foot train display takes place now through Dec. 14, and children can enter by going to the Kids’ Library, according to a news release. The model display includes Elmhurst landmarks, such as the Elmhurst water tower, police station, District 205 school building and a church.

The Elmhurst Model Railroad Club donated the model, and members will deliver and set up the display for the winner.
The library and the railroad club began their partnership in the spring when a working model train display in the library lobby highlighted the Elmhurst Reads program. The club has also helped organize programs such as Train Day and Operation Lifesaver, according to the news release.

The Elmhurst Model Railroad Club hosts weekly open houses on Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m. or Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m., and people of all ages are invited to attend.
