The Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s Leading Lawyers division conducted extensive research to determine the top lawyers who are 40 years or younger or have been practicing for less than 10 years and have proven themselves professional, ethical and experienced at an early stage in their legal career.

The distinction of being an Emerging Lawyer has been earned by the top two percent of all lawyers licensed to practice in Illinois. Emerging Lawyers are chosen via a survey of the state’s Leading Lawyers. The Leading Lawyers who recommended their Emerging peers were themselves selected as the best of the best by extensive statewide surveys sent to every lawyer listed in Sullivan’s Law Directory®. Lawyers could not nominate themselves or any lawyers at their own firm. Those results are reviewed by the Leading Lawyers Advisory Board, eliminating the possibility of lawyers being selected through a popularity contest.

Mr. Sommario is active in several professional organizations including the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) where he has served two three-year terms on the board of governors. He acted as the board liaison to the workers’ compensation law section council, the federal taxation section council, and the standing committee on law office management & economics. He is a Silver Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the ISBA. Mr. Sommario is also a past president of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association (WCLA), where he currently has been appointed the comptroller to advise the current president and board of directors on fiscal tax reporting matters. Frank is also the current first vice president of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and a member of the national and state trial lawyers’ associations.
