ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst resident last week helped authorities catch suspects who sped away from officers in Villa Park and ended up in Elmhurst, police said.

About 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Villa Park police started chasing the driver of a stolen car on Roosevelt Road, Elmhurst police said in a Facebook post. The pursuit continued in Villa Park and Lombard before it entered Elmhurst on St. Charles Road.

Officers then lost the suspect. However, a resident in the 100 block of South Chandler Avenue in Elmhurst spotted a car parked in the resident's driveway that did not belong there, police said.
