Elmhurst Residents Among Latest DUI Arrests
A local woman was charged after she crashed her car, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst handled cases involving DUIs, damage, an argument and retail theft. Here is information from the reports:
DUIs
- A 23-year-old woman who lives in the 800 block of South Hawthorne in Elmhurst was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of North Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released.
- A 32-year-old man who lives in the 400 block of West St. Charles Road in Elmhurst was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at North Avenue and Route 83 on a charge of DUI. He was released.
- A 26-year-old Darien man was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Friday at North and Addison avenues on charges of DUI and failure to leave information at the scene of an accident. He was released.
- A 37-year-old Bensenville woman was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday in the 900 block of North York Street on charges of DUI and speeding. She was released.

- A driver crashed into a median about 9:30 p.m. Thursday at York Street and Grand Avenue. The driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The person was taken to the police station and then to Elmhurst Hospital. Charges are pending.
Damage
- Someone defaced an electrical box using a black marker about 8 a.m. Thursday at Park Place of Elmhurst retirement community, 1050 S. Euclid Ave.
Argument

- An argument turned physical about 10 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of North Van Auken Street. Police could find no signs of injuries. Both people agreed to separate for the day.
Retail theft
- A woman stole several items about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mariano's, 678 N. York St. She was described as black, heavyset, having short hair, and wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and pink and white gym shoes. An investigation is pending.
