Elmhurst Restaurant-Bar-Venue Closing
The owner says new operators are taking over the space at some point next year.
ELMHURST, IL – A restaurant, bar and concert venue that opened in the spring are closing at the end of the year.
But they are expected to open with new operators at some point next year.
A couple of weeks ago, owner Tom Trenta said on Facebook that he was selling his interest in Elmhurst Hall, Kindred Restaurant and Ever Onward bar. New operators will take over the space in 2023 with new brands, he said.

Elmhurst Hall plans to go out with a bang.
"As you may have heard, New Year's Eve is our last night," Elmhurst Hall said on its Facebook page last week. "We have a great lineup of holiday shows ahead, and we're throwing the biggest NYE party in town!"

In his post, Trenta said all the holiday shows would go on as scheduled.
"Thank you to all our supporters and party hosts over the past year," he said. "We would love to see you in the weeks ahead for some final toasts."
Trenta, an Elmhurst resident, declined to comment Tuesday.
The three businesses filled the space of the old Fitz's Spare Keys, which closed in June 2021, citing the pandemic shutdowns.
In a 2021 interview, Trenta cited all the nearby condo and apartment development as playing into his decision to choose downtown Elmhurst. That's a market within walking distance, he said at the time.
At a city meeting on outdoor dining this week, Elmhurst Alderman Emily Bastedo cited the closing of the three businesses as evidence that restaurants and bars are still struggling.
