Elmhurst Restaurant, Concert Venue Open Downtown

After concerts end, the venue turns into a nightclub, with a DJ playing music.

ELMHURST, IL – A new restaurant opened in downtown Elmhurst a couple of weeks ago, advertising "a harmonious blend of modern twists on classic favorites."

Modern Plate is at 119 N. York St., across from Victory Meat & Seafood. Under the same roof is Stage 119, which is at 119 Commerce Ave.

Modern Plate features meals such as bacon-wrapped meatloaf and short rib risotto. The restaurant also includes entertainment and other events, according to its website.

Stage 119, which opened two months ago, is a venue for concerts and private parties. After concerts end, the venue turns into a nightclub, with DJ Andy Panagakis playing music until 2 a.m.

The restaurant and venue are in the same place as Elmhurst Hall, Kindred restaurant and Ever Onward bar, all of which closed last spring.

The three businesses filled the space of the old Fitz's Spare Keys, which closed in June 2021, citing the pandemic shutdowns.
