Elmhurst Restaurant Lockout Dispute Draws Police
In another case, firefighters and police responded to a garage fire in a local neighborhood, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a restaurant lockout dispute, a garage fire, a domestic disturbance, an ICE protest in Broadview, a coffee-throwing and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Locked out of restaurant
- During an argument, a person locked another out about 10 a.m. Friday at Dunkin' Donuts, 506 W. North Ave. The person outside then pounded on the windows. Police served that person with a no-trespass notice.

- Firefighters and police were called to a small fire in a home's attached garage about 5 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South Bryan Street. After they put out the fire, firefighters said they believed an extension cord for outside Christmas lights caused it.
Domestic disturbance
- Police were called to a domestic disturbance about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South West Avenue. A woman said a man dropped her off, attacked her and then would not leave. The man told police that the woman pushed him when he was trying to leave. No arrests were made because of conflicting statements and no signs of injuries.
ICE protest

- An Elmhurst officer responded to a multi-agency call for help dealing with a protest about 7 a.m. Saturday outside the ICE office in Broadview.
Coffee throwing
- A man told police that someone threw coffee in his eyes about 7 p.m. Saturday at Virginia and York streets. The man refused to speak further to the police. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop the driver of a black Cadillac CTS about 4 a.m. Sunday at York Street and Crestview Avenue. But the driver sped away, last seen headed north on York Street.
