Elmhurst School Aide Touches Students: Police

The man faces seven counts of aggravated battery and was taken to the DuPage County Jail, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – An aide at Elmhurst's Sandburg Middle School inappropriately touched students' buttocks over their clothing, local police said.

Marc James Raymond, 66, who lives in the 3200 block of Saratoga Avenue in Downers Grove, faces seven counts of aggravated battery, police said.

Raymond, who was arrested Tuesday at his home, was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

On April 22, the police department received its first report that touching occurred, according to a statement from Elmhurst School District 205. The police investigated along with the DuPage County Children's Advocacy Center for several months, finding a total of seven victims, the district said.

After the first report was filed, the district said it placed the employee on leave and barred him from its property. The district promised to continue cooperating with the police.

The district did not refer to the employee by name.
