Elmhurst St. Paddy's Parade Saturday

More than 100 floats are expected. Irish dancers will be in force, as well as York's marching band, organizers say.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst's annual St. Patrick's Day parade starts at noon Saturday, with more than 100 floats.

The parade launches at Wilson Street and Spring Road, heading north. It ends at the railroad, a block south of St. Charles Road in front of the old Silverado Grill.

The parade includes Irish dancers, the Shannon Rovers, Benny the Bull, Southpaw, Tommy Hawk, Chicago Highlanders, Medinah Clowns, the Elmhurst Armpit Orchestra and York High's marching band, according to the parade's website.

Parade organizers said more than 150 student-athletes from Elmhurst University will volunteer as parade marshals, ensuring security and safety along the route.
