This Elmhurst Street Targeted With Vandalism: Cops

Cars scratched, doors damaged and eggs thrown in this block, police said.

ELMHURST, IL — A number of incidents of vandalism occurred in the 100 block of Fairlane Avenue last week, police said. Here is information from the reports:

  • Someone threw eggs and rocks at a house between 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. Friday. A front glass door was damaged in the process. No entry was gained to the house.
  • The left side of a pickup truck was scratched overnight Friday in a driveway.
  • An officer saw two broken windows and a shattered storm door on the east side of a house. Officers checked inside for suspects, but found none. An officer informed the homeowner of the damage. The damage was believed to have taken place between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Friday last week.
  • Someone scratched the rear passenger side door of a car between Tuesday and Saturday.
  • While investigating another case on the same street, an officer saw a scratch on the rear driver's side quarter panel on a car. It was believed to have happened between Tuesday and Saturday.
