Elmhurst Woman Breached Capitol During Riot: Feds

The woman and a companion face federal charges in Jan. 6, 2021, riot. They were seen in photos in the Capitol.

ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst woman is accused of breaching the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot.

Kimberly DiFrancesco of Elmhurst and Trudy Castle of Chicago, both in their 50s, are facing charges of disorderly conduct and knowingly entering a restricted federal building.

The women are believed to be related, according to federal court documents. Castle's known aliases were listed as Trudy DiFrancesco and Trudy Von Keudell.

Court documents include a number of pictures of the women inside and outside the Capitol. DiFrancesco's next-door neighbor helped the FBI identify her in the pictures, according to the records.

Minutes after rioters breached the Capitol, DeFrancesco and Castle were pictured inside the building, according to court documents. DeFrancesco took photos while inside, the records state.

The women walked through the Senate Wing door and went by the visitor's center, authorities said. Castle was adorned with a "Trump" cap and U.S. flags.

They were reported to be inside the Capitol for about 35 minutes. After they left, they met outside with a man believed to be Castle's adult son, Nicholas Von Keudell of Hampshire, Illinois, according to court records.

About an hour and a half later, the women again approached the Senate Wing door in an apparent attempt to re-enter the building, authorities said. At that time, officers pushed away the rioters, and the women appeared to leave, according to court documents.
