Elmhurst Woman Files False Report of Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

After further investigation, the woman told police the crime she reported didn't happen.

An Elmhurst woman filed a police report that alleged she was kidnapped and raped, but she later acknowledged the incident didn’t happen.

Nancy C Harvey, age 20 of the 800 block of South Spring Road, Elmhurst, told police she was abducted June 25 by three men from a Payless shoe store in Villa Park, according to Elmhurst police.

Harvey said she was brought to an unknown place in Elmhurst where she said she was raped. She told police she later went to a hospital.

After further investigation, Harvey told police the story wasn’t true, police reported. She was charged with one State count of filing a false police report.
