Elmhurst Woman Hits Bicyclist, Then Leaves: Police
In another case, an 82-year-old man was charged with disorderly conduct in a local neighborhood, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a failure to render aid to a bicyclist, disorderly conduct, trespassing, DUI, retail theft, a wallet theft, a shattered window and fireworks. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Failure to render aid
- A 40-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 400 block of North Elm Avenue was cited about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of failure to give aid or information in a crash involving personal injury. Police said the woman hit a 45-year-old Itasca man on a bicycle at York Street and Industrial Avenue.

- An 82-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 7 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of South Kent Avenue on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the man tried to enter a home and a garage. The man said his car had broken down. He was released.
Trespassing
- A 39-year-old Naperville man was arrested about 10 p.m. Sunday on charges of criminal trespass to property and damage to city property. Police said the man was found to have parked and gotten stuck in the mud at Allfoam Industries, 471 W. Monroe St. The vehicle was towed, and the man was released.
DUI

- A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. on New Year's Day at North and West avenues on charges of DUI (drugs), failure to dim headlights and failure to signal when required. He was taken to the police station and then released.
Retail theft
- A 21-year-old Chicago resident was arrested on New Year's Eve on charges of retail theft, unlawful marijuana possession and improper window tinting. Police said the person stole soap and alcohol about 8:30 p.m. at Jewel, 944 S. York St. The person was released.
- A person stole fragrances about 4 p.m. Dec. 27 at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. The theft was reported Monday. The person left in a white Ford Fusion. An investigation is pending.
- Two people stole alcohol shortly after noon Tuesday at Mariano's, 678 N. York St. The suspects left in a white Chevrolet Traverse. An investigation is pending.
Wallet theft
- A woman told police that someone stole her wallet about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. An investigation is pending.
Shattered window
- A car's rear window was shattered overnight Tuesday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive.
Fireworks
- Authorities were called about a box on fire about 11:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve on the roadway near Adams Street and Kent Avenue. Firefighters found a fireworks box and put out the fire. An investigation is pending.
Fall
- A person fell about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of South Hillcrest Avenue. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Order of protection
- A resident in the 500 block of West Fay Avenue told police on New Year's Day that a person with an unserved order of protection returned to the address. An officer asked the person not to return and to go to the police station to be served.
