Elmhurst Woman Steals Political Sign Near Her Home: Cops
In another case, a woman battered someone else at a local theater, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of theft, domestic battery, aggravated fleeing, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Theft
- A 19-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 400 block of North Ridgeland Avenue was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on a theft charge. Police said she stole a sign from a yard on her block. She was released and given a no-trespass notice.

- An 18-year-old Berwyn woman was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Sunday on a domestic battery charge. Police said she battered someone during an argument at Classic Cinemas York Theatre, 150 N. York St. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 50-year-old Elmhurst man was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Clarion Inn, 933 Riverside Drive, on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Aggravated fleeing
- Kelvin J. Mendoza, 19, of Villa Park, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Larch and North avenues on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding (two counts), disobeying traffic signals (two counts), speeding, improper lane usage and failing to use a turn signal. Mendoza was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- A 19-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of North Glenview Avenue was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday at York Street and Butterfield Road on charges of DUI (drugs), speeding and marijuana possession. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 28-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 9 a.m. Saturday at North and Addison avenues on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 67-year-old Downers Grove woman was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at Robert Palmer Drive and Schiller Street on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control device, failure to yield turning left and resisting a police officer. She was taken to the police station and then released.
Retail theft
- Rosadelia H. Vargas, 70, of Palatine, was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Friday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a felony retail theft charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 37-year-old Bartlett man was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a retail theft charge. He was released.
