Elmhurst's Waste Hauling Contract Provides Decrease In Rates

The city council approved a new five-year contract with Republic Services of Melrose Park.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst is now under a new waste collection and hauling contract, which provides a decrease in waste hauling rates for 2018. The city council approved a new five-year contract with Republic Services of Melrose Park. There will be no change in garbage bins or change in collection days.

The new contract maintains the same services with a few additional options. The city said the spring clean up days remain and the free leaf pick-up for two cycles in the fall remains. There is now a 35-gallon toter available for waste, new organic recycling, and new recycling options for electronic and medical sharps for a fee.

  • 95-gallon toter, $22.29 per month
  • 65-gallon toter, $17.20 per month
  • 35-gallon toter, $16.50 per month
  • Refuse stickers, $3.25 per sticker
  • Yard waste stickers, $3.25 per sticker
  • Organic Composting toter rental, $17.50 per month
