Event for hospital employee who died of COVID-19 raises $3,000

Participants raised more than $3,000 for the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation in the Jose Segura Memorial 5K/8K on May 22 in Aurora.

Runners, walkers and others raised more than $3,000 on Saturday, May 22 in Aurora at the inaugural Jose Segura Memorial 5K/8K Run/Walk. The event was held in memory of Jose Segura, a medical assistant at Elmhurst Hospital, who died of COVID-19 in May 2020 at the age of 53.

The proceeds of the event, which was organized and hosted by Oscar Segura, Jose’s brother, were donated to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation.
