Ex-NBA Player To Talk Addiction in Elmhurst
He is set to speak about how his basketball career unraveled.
ELMHURST, IL – Chris Herren, who played for the Boston Celtics, is set to speak in Elmhurst about his experience with drug addiction.
According to a city of Elmhurst news release, Herren, who was with the Celtics from 1999 to 2006, will talk about overcoming addiction and finding the strength to define himself as a sober person.
He is slated to speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at York High School's auditorium. It is free, and no registration is required.

The event is being held by the Elmhurst Commission on Youth, the D205 Foundation and the D205 PTA Council.
The event is expected to start with a five-minute introductory video showing highlights of Herren's basketball career and how it began to unravel when he made a few bad decisions.
