Ex-Worker May Have Defrauded Elmhurst Company: Cops
This could be the second such case in recent months at the firm.

ELMHURST, IL – Chicago Water & Fire Restoration, 720 N. Larch Ave., may be dealing with its second case involving fraud.
Police said the company reported that a former employee created fictitious referrals and kept the referral fees between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 18, 2023.
Over the summer, police arrested the firm's former general manager, John Montalbano, 41, of Riverside. Facing felony charges, Montalbano was accused of stealing more than a half million dollars over nearly five years, according to public records.

Montalbano left the company in September 2022.
