Explore Elmhurst Express Trolley Back For Holidays

ELMHURST, IL — The Explore Elmhurst Express Trolley is currently being decked out for the holidays. You can ride the Explore Elmhurst Holly Trolley on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 16. According to the city, no tickets are needed to ride the free Holly Trolley connecting downtown Elmhurst with the Spring Road Business District and the York and Vallette Business District. Special Explore Elmhurst Holly Trolley signs will mark each stop.

The trolley will run on those Saturdays between 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. While onboard, riders will receive a guide to special offers in town and have a chance to enter-to-win prizes.

A schedule of events:

Saturday, Dec. 9

• 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.- Santa Visits City Centre Plaza (Stop #2)
• 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Santa’s Secret Shop at Wilder Mansion (Stop #4)
• 2 – 2:30 p.m. – Elmhurst Library’s Storytime on the Holly Trolley (Starting at Stop #1)
• 4-6 p.m. – Disney’s Frozen character, Elsa rides the Holly Trolley (Starting at Stop #1)

Saturday, Dec. 16

• 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Spring Road’s Sleigh Rides (Stop #5)
• 2 – 2:30 p.m. – Elmhurst Library’s Storytime on the Holly Trolley (Starting at Stop #1)
• 4-6 p.m. – Canterbury Carolers on the Holly Trolley (Starting at Stop #1)
• 4-8 p.m. – City Centre’s Hometown Holiday Block Party (Stop #2)

Holly Trolley Route will run the same route as the summer:

• Stop 1: York and Park – Approximate boarding time is on the hour and 30 minutes after the hour
• Stop 2: York and Schiller – Approximate boarding time is 5 and 35 minutes after the hour
• Stop 3: Second and Addison – Approximate boarding time is 10 and 40 minutes after the hour
• Stop 4: Cottage Hill and Virginia – Approximate boarding time is 15 and 45 minutes after the hour
• Stop 5: Spring and the Illinois Prairie Path – Approximate boarding time is 20 and 50 minutes after the hour
• Stop 6: York and Vallette – Approximate boarding time is 25 and 55 minutes after the hour
