False Bomb Threat Prompts Elmhurst Library's Evacation: Cops
Library staff evacuated the building. Authorities said they found no suspicious devices.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst's police and fire departments responded to a reported bomb threat early Monday afternoon at the local public library, police said.
Police said a library employee received a telephone call about 1:15 p.m. from a suspect stating there were bombs in the library.
As a precaution, library staff safely evacuated the building, police said. Officers then swept the library to make sure it was clear of patrons and staff and secured a perimeter around the building.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office responded with an explosives detection K9 Unit, police said. The interior and exterior of the building were searched, and no suspicious devices were found.
Police said the building was determined to be safe, with the library resuming normal operations at 4:30 p.m. after the threat was found to be false.

The investigation indicates the threatening phone call originated outside Illinois, police said.
